Glendale Youth Sports

The mission of Glendale Youth Sports (GYS) is to foster the physical and moral development of the youth in our community through sports. Founded by the late Cecilia DeGuere in the early 1950’s, GYS is a non-profit run entirely by parent volunteers. Our program is designed to ensure that all children residing within the greater Glendale area are offered the opportunity to participate in an organized team sport. See below for schedules and offerings. Go Glendale!

Sports scholarships are available for those needing assistance with registration fees. Please contact gdaleyouthsports@gmail.com for more information.

Practice times and dates will be determined after the registration period is complete. You will receive an email from your coach with details after registration.

Meet Our Coaches

GYS Board

Jennifer Sweis (GYS CFO) – “I’ve lived in Glendale for 13 years with my husband and four children. Our children have all participated in Glendale Youth Sports. When we aren’t spending time in our community, we enjoy gardening and taking care of our pets.”

Taylor Uehlin (GYS Co-Secretary) – “I’ve lived in Glendale for 10 years with my husband and three children who are all active in GYS. My kids attend St. Gabes and we enjoying staying involved in our community.”

Sarah Reder (GYS Co-Secretary) – “Glendale has been my home since 2018. My husband and I, along with our two girls, absolutely love it here. Glendale Youth Sports is an excellent organization to participate in and get involved with. Go Glendale!”

Kevin Carroll (GYS Soccer Coordinator) – “I have lived in Glendale since 2011 and in the Princeton District since 2001. My wife Martha and I have two children, Kate and Maggie, who attend Glendale Elementary School. I have been a Board member of the Glendale Elementary PTA since 2021, the same year I took over as the Volunteer Soccer Coordinator for Glendale Youth Sports. I’m proud to have seen our soccer program grow from just a couple of teams coming out of the pandemic to 8 teams, currently serving kids from 3-12 years old. My favorite memory is coaching the U8 Girls in 2023.”

Chris Collett (GYS Basketball and Baseball Coordinator) – “I’ve lived in Glendale for the past 10 years and have been actively involved in Glendale Youth Sports as both a coach and supporter. My wife and I have four boys to attend Princeton City Schools, and through their participation in GYS, we’ve seen the value our programs offer in helping kids stay active, work as a team, and stay connected to the community.”
